When you’re trying to get more done, it’s not enough to focus on working faster.

That’s because your average speed is a result of two opposing forces.

Firstly, there’s whatever’s propelling you forwards:

  • Focus
  • Talent
  • Hard Work
  • Great Ideas
  • Strong Goal-Setting

But they’re countered by the things that are holding you back:

  • Self-doubt
  • Toxic relationships
  • Lack of sleep
  • Stress
  • Multi-tasking

If those forces are equal and opposite, there’s a Newtonian balance which means you’ll find it hard to make any real progress.

What seems immediately easier – sweating to ramp up the effort on list one, or removing things from list two?

I know, right?
