Stupid stuff I heard this week – Jonny Hates Marketing

I’ve noticed a tendency for coaches and therapists to promise themselves success at some point in the future.

“I’ve got 4 people interested in joining my programme in January”

No you don’t.

You have 4 people who didn’t buy from you and tickled your tummy to make you feel better.

“I just need to finish my website, then I’ll be all set to go”

No, you won’t be.

If you were set to go, you’d have gone already, and a website makes zero difference to that.

“I know what I need to be doing. I just haven’t done it yet”

No you don’t. If you knew what to do, you’d be doing it now.

“I have a speaking event arranged in March, so I’m focusing on that at the moment”

Tell that to your landlord when the rent’s due in 2 weeks.

“I met some really interesting people at the networking breakfast this week”

No you didn’t. You met some people who faked their interest because they wanted to sell you their stuff.

Each of those quotes was actually recited in my ears this week by coaches in my community.

You need to stop planning on earning money at some indeterminate point in the future.

Work out what will get you paid TODAY.

Then go do it, today and every day.
